Trade Dollars, 1873-1885
Under Coinage Act of 1873, Trade dollars containing 420grains of .900 fine silver, they were havier than Liberty Seated Dollar. They were minted for export trade with Asia to compete with dollars size coins of other countries. Many pieces were circulated in the Orient were counterstapmed, called " CHOPMARKS".
