Two-Cent Pieces, 1864-1873

Under the authorization of Mint Act in 1864, Two-Cent coin made its debut in bronz. Due to the uncertainty outcome of Civil War and hard money was needed, large quantities were struck. The motto IN GOD WE TRUST appeared first time in this coin. however, the one cent was resumed for production and two-cent coin declined, became one of the shortest lived coin in US coinage.
Weight is 6.22 g with composition of 0.95 copper and 0.05 zinc and has diameter of 23 mm.
